If you are sure that the engine and transmission is free, and the vehicle is safe to roll, I always hitch another truck to the front of any sleepers and just tow them till they fire up.

Quite often a sleeper will fire intitially only on one or two cylinders because a valve or two was left partially open. Towing gently at 15 - 20 MPH in 3rd gear will allow it to fire up on the cylinders it's happy with, and the rest usually fall into line once it warms up.

Apart from anything else cranking it over endlessly is murder on the starter and your nerves, and with an old 6v truck you just don't get the RPM a gentle tow provides.
