A few of you know that I am in the middle of a major remodel of the interior of my house. It has been going on for several months.

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to a friend and I mentioned that I had bought a new table saw. He said you should have told me "I have contractors Delta that I would give you". He bought it 20 years ago and never used it. It has been sitting in storage basically the whole time. I did not see him for 3 weeks or so. Sunday I saw him. He said the saw was mine and that I needed to pick it up at this guys house who last used it. He has let 2 guys use it over time. The last time he saw it it had some rust on the table from water sitting on it.

I picked it up last night. The guy who had it said he has not used it in over 2 years. It turns out to be a Rockwell Model 10. Delta bought out Rockwell. The saw almost looks like it just came out of its box. There is a little discoloration on the table and I can see where someone set a drink. It is not rusted at all. The wings on the table show two rubbed spots in the paint from wood running over it. The fence guides are bright and shinny and the wood on the fence is without a rub mark. It has a 1.5 hp motor that is wire for 220 which is fine by me. It has a cheap blade in it which I will replace. The only other thing that I need to do to it is replace the plug to match my 220 outlet. Now I now have a saw with a little more power to cut some of the thick oak I have. No slight on the new Bosch table saw I just bought. The Rockwell is not portable at all. It was hard for my son and I to load it up and get it home. The motor is massive and still has the original Rockwell drive belt.
