I have my dad's Sears table saw, from the early 1950s, back when they were good, and compared to any new saw for under $1500, there's no comparison. The fit and finish is perfect, it runs as smooth as silk, the "1 HP" motor cuts more wood faster and cooler than the "2 HP" motor on my old Jet saw that burned up. I always knew that someday it would be mine, but when the day came to take it out of his shop and load it in my truck, I cried. My father died suddenly and unexpectedly, and I never got to say "goodbye" or "thank you". I think of him whenever I use that saw, though. I also have the Sears drill press he got at the same time, and it still runs like a champ too.
