there is a product called dynamat. that company has a variety of products that insulate for heat and or sound. i applied it to the back of my firewall pad in the command car and the m37. didn't like the idea of sticking anything directly to painted sheetmetal. you could likely apply a similar product to the backside of your interior kit and get good results.
