My question wasn't about regulations. This isn't California yet, and we basically don't have any on timber land so long as you're not pushing dirt in a creek and it's not a road in a subdivision that the county's going to take over. If there was any issue, I would say it's a forestry road, which it is because I'd be doing some logging and thinning from it. I've seen a lot worse in terms of skid trails going straight up and down hillsides. They did just pass some regs about grading permits but I think it only applies to flood plains.
My question is whether 30% is too steep to be practical. So far it sounds like 30%'s pushing it but 20% would be easy. Maybe I should check some of the old cat trails or tailings piles around here and try to find one that's 30% and then try driving up and down it with various rigs.
