I have seen WC 3/4 tons from 42 with 9 5/8 diffs. with welded cover and with bolted covers more than I have seen them with 8 3/4 diffs. they could have been added during a rebuild. Some 1/2 tons even got rebuilt with 9 5/8 diff assemblies. the last Carryall I had was built in 43 and had 9 5/8 diffs with welded covers so correct doesn't necessarily mean bolted on cover. I guess it would depend on when your carryall was built.
