Yes, peace of mind, and hopefully the chance to make the valves last until the whole engine needs a rebuild rather than do the valves now and the rest again in a few years. Or, do it all now prematurely because the valves are all burned and I don't want to tear it down again later.
Plus it gives me the chance to impress all of the tire kickers who always seem to congregate and run their grubby paws all over my fenders at each fill up. Whip out the bottle of lead substitute while dazzling them with the story that the old girl was made to run on “real gas” with real lead, not the Mideast decaffeinated swill we have now. I’m cruel…. ;^)
