With a hydraulic actuator, you don't necessary loose the parking brake function. The actuators have a safety brake engagement lever you can use to park the trailer. You can also use it to dump the trailer: taking off the two front pins on the A frame, engaging parking brake on the trailer and the backing-up with the towing vehicle thus making the box dump.
Opinions from the others on the use of the actuator safety brake as a parking brake?
