7.5" tires on 9" rims

I'm pretty sure of the answer, but thought I'd ask: Just how bad would it be to mount 7.50-16 tires on 9.00-16 rims on an M37 that's never driven on the highway. I have some real good 7.50-16 M&S tires. I know they won't carry the same load, but I never put any weight to amount to anything on the M37 anyway.
