You may send him a registered letter explaining that you will accept the payment but will not transfer title until the vehicle is removed from the property, as a condition of sale. The vehicle needs to be removed within 30 days, or set a specific date that it must be removed by, set by mutual written agreement.
If he accepts the written agreement and signs his acknowledgement, then you take the payment, he would have to agree that if the vehicle is not removed within that time frame, the amount of deposit of $1,000 will be forfeited and the balance returned. Any legal fees required would be deducted from the balance.
A reasonable request, with a stiff enough penalty that he probably wouldn't walk from it. It accomplishes the goal of selling the truck and requires of him that it be removed prior to title transfer.
