Manifold bolts

Was finally able to get each of the nuts holding the exhaust manifold free, or so I thought. What actually happened was the entire bolt (each of them) backed out of the engine, rather than just the nuts loosening.

When I remove them they will surely dump water from the coolant system, if I dont dump the entire system first. So, I'll next dump all the coolant.

After that, I should be able to remove the manifold, replace the gaskets, and then
re-install by reversing the process. Correct???? Are there any surprises I should be looking for?

Oh yea, one last thing. The manifold has a small (1 inch) crack between the 1st and 2nd exhaust port. Ive heard that this is repairable, but Ive also heard that cast isnt weldable or brazeable. So, is this fixable or no?

Thanks in advance.
