The WC52 looked pretty good to me in the photo. Being the WC's are not too common, I am surpised you chose it over a M37, unless you wanted the WC look for parades ect. The M37 engine bay is a little bigger so swaps are easier and it comes w/ a 2 speed transfer case.

As for the swap, the 3838 is a "B" block engine and is approx 2" wider than the LA series 273/318/340/360. The LA exhaust manifolds slightly interfere with M37 frame rails. With the B block's wider width, you will have a problem with the exhaust manifolds/exhaust at the frame rails - so headers (custom?) will be likely. Chrysler BB's, including the RB's (413-440) have successfully been swapped into M37's - so maybe you should post on Gordon's forums (Power Wagon Forum) ask ask for advice from the ex-BigE folks.

Another consideration: cooling. The stock radiators can handle the smallblocks - big blocks make more power and heat. Some swappers complained that the 360 swaps did cause them to near overheat.

Good luck. Please post you results for those considering similar engine swaps.
