I doubt a $1000 will buy you anything that is useful and you will be happy with. I have a large blast cabinet and a 100# presure
pot for doing chassis etc. I am running a 7.5 hp compressor with a 120 gallon tank. Mine works well, but for cost my compressor was over $2400 and my blast equipment over $1200. Did I mention, I hate blasting. Its a dirty, nasty, hot job. A 3 PW's and a car have been totally blasted, so I feel I broke even. For just one project, its cheaper to have someone else do it for you. But I must be first to admit, a blast cabinet is one handy tool in the shop.
