I know that everyone will frown on me for this but, I do all my own split ring tires myself. I take my largest logging chain and weave it throughjust loose enough to take the pressure in the expansion. And then cover the most part with a peice of 3/4 plywood. (ring face down) If everything was nice and clean and the tire now aired up it should be safe. The Army had us doing it with the spade of one of our howitzers setting on top of the rim, ring also upside down..
