Where to find the Certified Net Horse Power at RPM |
The Certified Net Horse Power at RPM (CNHP) of a Power-Wagon is listed on the data tag in different locations depending on the style of tag. The 230ci Flat Head 6 rating changed several times over its lifespan from 1946-1960, from a low of 74 HP at 2800 RPM to a high of 102 HP at 3600 RPM in 1960. In 1961, with the introduction of the 251ci Flat Head 6, the HP went to 115 at 3600 RPM. Not only did the HP at RPM change several times throughout the run of WDX-WM300 Power-Wagons, but some tags are also miss marked, for example, there are 1966 tags that read 115 at 2600 RPM. Because of mistakes like this, and the many changes, each tag should be checked. For more about the door tags, and their location, check the Serial Number Tags page. |
I hope to update this page from time to time as I learn new info, and get feedback about other information that would be good to include on this page. Please contact the Registry maintainers at the below email address if you have any suggestions or questions. |
