Backside of access plate.
Holes through original plate were not drilled or countersunk, but were stamped into the sheet metal. This process formed countersunk shaped holes into which the #10 wood screw heads fit. The thickness of the original plate was 15GA sheet metal - (.0673). The wood board on the floor of the pickup bed had countersunk holes for the formed protrusions of the plate to fit into, as well as for the #10 screws to thread into.
