It took awhile for me to figure this out, but with the help of Glenn Reid, I have managed to get photos to show up directly in the post.
If you have a .Mac account, it is very easy (once you know how!)
1. Open your dot Mac site
2. drag a photo onto the Sites folder
3. The URL is http://homepage.mac.com/your account name/photo ref (place this URL in the Optional Photo Link box) Try to keep the URL short by giving the photo a short name etc.
for example...
http://homepage.mac.com/gwellman/PW.jpg
