Proper safety wireing of bolts is not just wireing the bolt to a stationary object. Safety wireing of bolts is done in a sequence that for one bolt to loosen, it must tighten the next bolt, and the next bolt must tighten the center bolt. Rather than taking a lot of bandwidth explaining. Go to the following link. It has a good explanation and pictures, and further links on the subject.
Proper safety wireing, that will not allow a bolt to loosen is done all the time in criticle applications. If its not done correctly or with the proper wire, you just have false security that will fail.
