Those screws are really a wierd one. They are a slighly oval head but the head is much smaller than a normal screw that you buy at a store. I went with the larger headed screw and the larger head causes an interference problem with the hood and hood hinge. The screws that hold on the door latch striker plate are the same one that they use on the hood hinge end plate with the exception that they are longer. That will give you an idea of the head size. The length of the screws on the front of the hood hinge is not important. However the ones that hold the hinge to the cowel can be only so long as they go into a pocket in the cowel. I had a couple of extra screws from the door striker and used them in the front. I then ordered one from VPW for the cowel end and used one that came with the truck.

I also tried to use stainless screws and found the correct threads and size. It was more effort to grind down the head to fit correctly.
