The purpose of the UN is to supply a UNITED front against tyrents and to avoid another Hitler. But because France, Germany and Russia decided ignore the UN's sanctions and to take ADVANTAGE of a marketplace with compentition consisting only of nations who also ignored the sanctions, no wonder they don't want this war, they don't want to loose their monopoly of weasels. There is a good chance when they find the chem labs and such, "Made in France" will be stamped all over the equipment. Because France and the others wanted to make an easy buck, they sold deplomacy down the river. You can't convince someone to follow "straighten out or else" negotiations if there is obviously going to be no "or else" because half of the "or else" is in your back pocket. Deplomacy failed BECAUSE of countries like France NOT BECAUSE of the US.
