Hi Mark,
That will still be pretty much a dry start. I use an old distributor drive shaft attached to a drill motor, pull the distributor and rotate the pump shaft (the motor won't turn) for a while until you get oil pumped up to the head. That will pre-prime all of the oil passages prior to starting.
