Hi folks,
I had the carb removed from my 230 intake manifold the other day, and as I was looking down in there, I noticed that there was quite a coating of oil in the manifold. I guess this is coming from the PCV system, but I'm not sure what would be causing it. I have not noticed that I'm burning any oil, but when I recently had the head removed, I did notice that there was a significant build-up of some kind of carbon-like substance on the combustion chambers and the piston tops, even though I had only run the engine a couple of hundred miles since having the head removed before.
Could a worn-out PCV valve cause this trouble? Or inadequate air intake at the oil filler tube breather?
Got any suggestions?
Thanks,
Matt
