I dont know if galvanized would make any difference for an air line but you arent supposed to use galv for a gas pipe as the galv flakes off. Might flake off and hurt air tools or contaminate the air for painting. Dont know if this is possible or how clean of air you are gonna want to have. I'd think plastic PVC would be fine for air if you arent gonna go above the PSI.
