Does my Dana 44 Have flat tops?

I have a 73 DPW 3/4 ton. The front axle is a dana 44 with an 8 lug pattern. Will this have flat top knuckles? If so when I drill and tap them how far do I drill down? All the way through? part way? Any ideas.
