Somebody said it down below. They let pickup diesels run longer, expecially the Power Stroke, the 6.5 turbo and the Dodge-Cummins. They do this to let the turbo bearings cool down. The older Diesels from the early 80's are often left running because they can be quite cantankerous to start up again.
