One other thought, loss of oil presure and shutting down of fuel could create a real safety problem under certain conditions. One may well opt to run the engine without oil presure to get to a safe place to pull over and stop rather than an automatic shut down. A blown engine might be a better deal that an automatic shut down. Mabey a emergency over ride switch ????
