Valve Question?

Now for a while now, my 400cid engine, has had a rather loud lifter. That noise usually went away after the engine warmed up. But now I have a click that is consistent and is aggravated by acceleration.

It is definitely in the front of the passenger side head, Piston's 2 and 4. They are the stock cast iron heads. Any suggestions, I need to change the valve cover gasket, and am curious what to look for, as I have really not needed to do any major engine work. Will I be able to see anything wrong.

I'm tossing around the idea of just picking up some edelbrock heads, and a new cam. The bottom end of the engine is stock.
