On my W200 '68 big knuckel & '65 dana 44s I support the front tires 'bout an inch off the ground. I drive a 16d nail through a 2x piece of wood 'bout an inch from the edge (2x6,2x8 4ft long or so,something kind of heavy) I lay this on the floor, spike facing up, in front of the tire and spin the tire backwards by hand. I move the 2x with nail to touch the rotating tire and scribe a line on the tread surface around the tire. On my W200 trucks, which have standard factory lift blocks, I am able to measure with a tape measure and set with tierod adjustment, the toe in.
