Ron;
All conditions show a possible banner year. We are still way to cold to tap. Its warmed overnight to 7.5 degrees. This has been a long cold winter, we forget since the winters have been very mild for the past 3 years. For Maple Sap to flow in usuable quantity, we need good thawing days and freezing nights. Also the snow needs to pull back from the trees so warmth can get to the lower tree and roots.
There is no snow pull back yet. However, there is hope (ha ha ha ) they are tapping in southern Vermont and New Hampshire. We are probably 2 weeks, mabey 3 before we tap.
Great on your wife coming with you, I will tell Tam.
