I have just purchased a '57 ff PW without a motor. The truck is 300 miles from I live. I have about three weeks to remove the truck.
I have read the discussion in this forum about how it is preferable to load the vehicle on a trailer and tow it with a 1-ton vehicle.
A friend has suggested that we could rent a car dolly from U-Haul and bring it home by letting the rear wheels roll free. This would require the removal of the drive shaft so it would not affect the transmission case.
Is there anyone who has had experience doing this or, is there any reason this is not a good idea?
I am having troubles finding a trailer. The tow vehicle is a 1-ton Chevrolet van.
Appreciate it!
