As some of you on this forumn may remember, almost 3 years ago, my baby went up in flames and burnt to the ground like that. I had bought the '70 W-200 the year before and had done tons of work to it. I give it a good tune up, but for some dumb reason, I failed to replace the little piece of 4 inch hose that went from fuel filter to the metal line at the carb. Well needless to say, in March of 2000, I started up the truck, after letting it sit all winter, and proceded to drive it up to the garage. I was going to start doing brake work to it so I could drive it. I got half way between house and garage, and it stalled....I bent down to hit the key, and seen flames shoot out from underhood and lots of smoke. I called the fire department, and I put the fire out about 5 min before they rolled in there.... Needless to say, my Baby was toast. My folks were happy that atleast I got out of there, but at the time, I was mad because my Baby was a hulk of metal, burnt wires and ashes....That was a very nice well preserved '70 W-200 with only 26K actual miles on it. It took me forever to find it, and I will probably never find another one that nice, so close to home again...
