Mine were pretty bad so I turned them on a lathe in the machine shop here at work. I had one of the machinists help me set it up on the first one - clamped on to the flats in a three-jaw chuck and used a dial indicator to center it. ( there is a certain ammount you can "offset" the jaws just for this type thing). Turned it fairly fast with a slow feed rate and got a good smooth finish. only took off enough to clean it up. Had the new seal there to make sure I didn't take too much.
