Hey all I just wanted to let you know that I'm 98% sure that I solved my truck problem. It hasn't honestly ran for more than 5-10 minutes for about 3 weeks now. It would either not start PERIOD, or would start warm up and die.
Everything under the hood was either new, restored, etc... (I'm not kidding by everything, I'm talking even the back of the dashboard, and I was inspecting wires that were factory wrapped and didn't look scratched)
There are four wires attached to the coil on an electronic ignition engine.
2 Red 12 Volt
2 Black
Red wire #1 runs to the top of the ballast resistor.
Red wire #2 runs through the firewall between the Alt Regulator and the heater blower motor. That wire connects to teh backside of the Tachometer.
Black wire #1 runs to the electronic ignition module harness, and is post #2.
Black wire #2 runs through the firewall right above the wiring harness connections (or is the black wire in the third block closest to the passenger side. (I'd have to go look at the truck again to remember). But that one also runs to the back of the Tachometer.
So disconnect the tach if you've tried ALL conventional methods through the manuals.
Thanks to all for everything. It was greatly appreciated.
