I am currently in the process of installing a '68 318 chrysler, 4-speed manual (NP or NV ??? not sure which) into '53 M-37. I cut the middle out of a dodge truck crossmember and attached the pieces with the motor mounts to the frame. I used a dodge truck tranny crossmember turned upside and mounted to the bottom of the framerails. A perch needs to be fabbed and welded to the cossmember for the tranny to rest on. The radiator is a dodge truck radiator (I believe) and is mounted directly behind the grille. The motor sits level and I can use the existing spud-shaft to the transfer case. I have stock exhaust manifolds with stock y-pipe (headers would be tight) and a mini-starter. Wiring harness is stock dodge truck w/electronic ignition. Mounts need to be made for the tranny shifter levers and parking brake levers. Swap can be done cheaply if you can find the truck parts in a junkyard and do the work yourself.
