If your engine is clean and had a little breakin time if new use it. I would not go for the extended change times like they recommend. Oil still gets blowby and other stuff in it. The syn. oil is very high det. so it keeps the engine cleaner too. I use it in a 70 W200 truck with a Stroker 440 that is now 502 cubes. I tow a very heavy enclosed car trailer and give that engine no mercy. I've had water temp at 230 deg and oil temp in the high 300's. This engine now has over 180,000 miles and the engine is just now using about one qt. between changes. As far as increase in mileage. At 5 miles to a gallon nothing helps.
