I should have mentioned two other things....one is that most good vehicle recovery manuals suggest protecting the operator by draping a damping blanket or other weight on the winch cable before powering up, in case the cable parts. Additionally, protect the windshield with something, so the hook doesn't part your hair if it lets go. last, the clutch on board the winch itself is a jaw clutch, NOT a friction clutch. That's why it tends to jam. Questions?
