I had a similar situation and used 3/16" steel to fab up a bracket. I initially used vise grips to hold the assy together so I could get the alignment right. After that I drilled and bolted it together and mounted it to the engine to make sure all was kosher. I test ran it to make sure the belts would stay put and everything was strait. Then I took it back off and layed it on some 1/4" steel plate cut to the right shape and welded the whole works together. It works great with no unwanted movement.
Good Luck
