I was refering to daves post, ahead of yours, not your reply. He was specifically refering to VPW and Roberts Motor Parts. Without both of those suppliers, our hobby would be hurting.
I agree with you about the local specialty shops, they are in danger of going the way of the local hardware stores, as an example, when Lowes and Depot moved into the neighborhood and started selling us cheap junk, one by one the mom and pop shops fell by the wayside. Their service and experience will NEVER be replaced. Sadly most people shop upfront price and not long term quality. Why would someone want to pay for three cheaply made Chinese tools when they could pay marginally more for one made by a fellow countryman, one that will last many years???
My local speedo shop is gone, the local radiator shops have been run out of business by the environmentalists (SoCal). The times they are a changing, and not for the better most of the time. I'd like to see VPW and Roberts hang in there a few more years!
