I happen to like old generators, so if it was mine I would strip it down to the bare casting and braze it. Grind out the cracks 1/8-1/4" deep on each side, heat the whole thing up somewhat, braze up the cracks, and let it cool down slow. I've never had castings crack from this, including a large wood-stove door that I couldn't get evenly hot. Welding cast is trickier than brazing but this part is small enough that if you really want to you can heat the whole thing red-hot in a wood stove or forge, weld it while it's red hot, and bury it in dry sand to cool slowly.
