Help with engine I.D. please.....

I have an M37 that has had the engine changed to a different flathead 6. What these worn-out peepers see on the driver's side of the block is: yIND5A248667* (the last character is a star). Any help with I.D., displacement, etc. is greatly appreciated. Thanks, -D.
