Dan , I couldn't agree with you more , I have had two dodge cummings diesels and as far as I'm concerned you can't beat them . Plain and simple, when an auto. tran's in a dodge - gas or diesel - sits idle with the engine off, It drains the fluid from the torque converter , when you start it back up "DON"T DRIVE AWAY", place the tran's in neutral and let sit and idle for at least three min. this will fill the torque converter and avoids " dry running " it. Trust me I know this from experience, If you avoid doing this, It is the beginning of the end for your trany. If you take care of this trans it will last you many years and miles.
