Actually it is Ayn Rand, and he recognized the imperfections in the world, and would not accept them...so he stopped the world, (figuritively), and forced everyone else to rise to his standards. At one point he gives a speech to the world informing them of what and why he was stopping everything; which in the paperback version lasts 60 plus pages! There is much to be admired in John Galt.
She also wrote the Fountainhead and founded a religion like sect based on Objectivism. She was lightyears ahead of her time...
