Have one built... Steel, oak, winch, ramps, and four (5) 11X16s. Here's my list of desireable features:
- elevated front 12k winch, enclosed with self contained (dual 12V batteries) electrics.
- hideaway tie down anchors every 2 feet on each side for vehicle tie downs.
- 6 inch railing forward of the fenders.
- electric extend/retract ramps (or hydraulic tilt/retractable bed)
- electric verticle support stansions in rear
- electric tongue jack with wheel (360 turn), rotates parallel to frame during towing.
- enclosed electrical system (in conduits for protection)
- backup spot lights (180 turn)
- work spotlight in front (360 turn)
- 18' long X 7' wide deck
- pockets for removeable sides
- bulldogs on frame for external tie downs (tarp cover).
- under-bed rack (for 8' ladder and ramp extensions)
- locking secure storage/parts box
- portable CO2 or compressed air tank
- equalizer and torsion mount brackets on front frame
- dog house with automatic feeder/waterer (oops. sorry, wrong list)
