Chris Craft always used copper exhaust pipes.
These pipes were directly fastened to the cast iron exhaust elbows with a screw on locking nut. These were used in fresh and salt water. The Cast Iron Exhaust elbows on the old (50 yr old) boats had corrosion problems yet the copper exhaust pipe is in good shape. I cant asnwer why .
