axle swaps for W200

I am considering an axle swap for my 1968 Dodge W200 Crew Cab in the spring. I for sure want to upgrade the front axle to something w/ an open knuckle, disc brakes, and plan to explore the power steering options at the same time. I've been told this can be a relative simple swap, but wanted to ask advice on pit-falls and beneficial pointers. I have also solicated advice from other forms and want to gather as much information as possible.
