Well after doing some engine work, rewiring and switching to a 50 amp alternator, I finally got around to getting my tag to drive my truck. I had a problem with it running hot (about 195 degrees) even in cool weather. I thought I would replace the water distributor tube and work from there. The old tube had about an inch long hole in the rear of it, in the bottom that had rusted out. I bought a new one and replaced it. I took the truck out today and the engine ran at 170 degrees with a 180 degrees thermostat. Temperature in central CA was around 50, so I am well pleased with the result. The engine should run around 180-185, so if your experiencing hotter temps, I recommend you do the same thing. It's a little work, but well worth the effort.
