I think the first "Super-Duty" vehicles were the Mack AP series Super-Duty Trucks made from 1926 to 1938. Really heavy units made mostly for major construction projects like Hoover Dam.
Out at the farm, I have a 57 truck similar to the M-H above. It is a Mercury M600 with a factory authourised Fabco 4X4 conversion. While FoMoCo in the U.S. had all of their 4X4 vehicles converted by M-H, Ford of CANADA was a seperate company, and the buyer could spec the conversion company. Seems that Dodge(Fargo)was the only one of the "Big Three" to build their 4X4's "in house" back then J.V.L.
