It's the labor that really drives the price up. You can redo the whole truck for less than $10,000, but buy the time you pay someone to do it, it gets pricey. Here are some general figures based on a complete truck doing most of the labor yourself.
Rebuilt engine $2500 (if machinist does it)
Rebuilt diffs $2000 (new gears and a diff man doing it)
Rebuilt tans/TC $500 (if you do it)
Tires/tubs/flaps $900
Wiring Harness $400
Painting $2000 (if you have someone do it)
Misc. $2000
