Mitsubishi & Dodge?....what's the connection?

I'm wondering what's the connection here between these two companies?
I have a 120hp Mitsubishi 4 cyl turbo diesel that I've been contemplating installing in a flat fender....would this be sacrilege?
I'm told they were used in some Military export Dodges....does anyone know the answers here?
