Have a chance to buy a 48 PW with out bed?

I have a chance to buy a 48 Power Wagon with out a bed on it rebuilt Motor and restored cab. Here is the question can they have a modern flat bed put on them and still hold there value? Or can you get a bed for the reasonable price? Also did the PWs Civian models have flat bed on them at one time? Thanks, Mark
